Athlete Personal Summary
My name is Jake Kessenich and I have lived my entire life in Sussex, Wisconsin. I am currently a junior attending Sussex Hamilton High School where I am involved in multiple sports and activities. I come from a very close nit family consisting of my two sisters, Taylor and McKenna, and my parents, Steve and Nancy. Additionally, I am very close to my extended family that are scattered throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. My family and I are active members at St. James Catholic Church. My faith is an important part of my life and I look forward to making my confirmation in the spring of 2016.
Academically, I take my studies very seriously. I am currently ranked 12th in my class of 352 students. I participate in many AP and Honor courses. My GPA is currently 4.1. Additionally, I have been inducted into National Honor Society, a member of the Dean’s list, have achieved high academic awards each year in high school, and have earned student of the month in math.
Sports also have played a large role in my life. Since coming to Hamilton, I have run track and played both football and basketball. I enjoy all sports, but basketball has been my passion. Last year as a sophomore, I played for the Junior Varsity basketball team where I was team captain and selected by my coaches as the Most Valuable Player. I averaged 10.5 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 3.4 apg, and 1.6 spg. Throughout the season, I played each of the positions in the motion offense. I set long and short term goals that are realistic and achievable to push myself to always improve. My coaches have always seen me as one who outworks the competition. They have recognized I have a strong will to be successful in both the game of basketball and academically.
