Andrew Morales... An ALL Around GREAT Young Man!

PROFILE - Andrew Morales 2017 OF Mater Lakes Academy

My name is Andrew Morales and I play baseball for my high school team at Mater Lakes Academy.  I will be starting my Senior year and will graduate in 2017.  I have been playing baseball since I was 5 years old and have played on two travel teams in South Florida.  For the past 2 summers I have played for Mo Steel, which is a showcase team that have played in recruiting tournaments such as Under Armour, Perfect Game and Prospect Wire.   In these tournaments, I have played against other teams who have players already committed to Division I squads.

I am a corner OUTFIELDER and one of my strengths is my ability to play defense.  I am very good at tracking balls and getting good jumps on balls hit in the gap.  Because I have played outfield most of my baseball career, I have excellent understanding and knowledge of the position.

Another asset I feel I have is my ability to be a consistent and smart hitter.  Over the years, I have trained and continue to learn the art of hitting.   I typically bat middle of the line up as the 5th or 6th batter.  I have good power and can drive the ball to all sides of the field.

I currently work with 2 professional trainers each week.  Alex Arias (retired Marlins SS) trains me on defense and hitting and Ricardo Sosa (Arizona Diamondbacks rookie ball hitting coach) works on my batting techniques.

I am a hard worker and a committed player.  I have a great relationship with all my coaches and I am eager to continue learning and getting better at all aspects of the game.   I am interested in a school that is looking for a player that would be committed to the program and, who will put in the time, effort and work to become a team contributor.
