My name is Matthew Mejias from Miami, FL. I have a twin brother Michael Mejias and we are looking to get recruited to college together.
I play on my high school team and I consider myself the leader on the team due to my positivity, hard work, and love for the game itself. I want to make everyone better aside from myself starting with my teammates, as well as being a player that will never quit chasing the dream. I take a lot of pride in what I do and I am never satisfied with my achievements I can always get better!
I am an Outfielder/ Pitcher at Westwood Christian High School in Miami, FL and I have been playing baseball since I was three years old. I have dedicated my life to baseball and school . I have received a Coaches Award for guiding and being a team leader on and off the field. I made honorable mention my Junior season for All Miami- Dade, and was named a captain in my junior season. I have been a 4 year starter on varsity that just continues to get better by the year! I will strive for greatness and any team I am on I will give everything I got everyday whether practice or game. I will never back down in any fight no matter what the score is . My humbleness never stops. I believe that although I do contribute a lot to my team, there’s always something I can do to improve my game. I take pride in what I do on the field!
The summer before my senior year I spent lifting every day and getting stronger and more agile,I was in the batting cages hitting almost every day and I played on a summer team. Academically, I maintain a 3.2 GPA and I hope to raise that by the end of this year. My batting Avg. was 396. Last year with 2 HR and about 20 RBI in only 53 ABs I am also very athletic I played varsity basketball all 4 years of high school on a team that is very competitive in Miami and makes regional play every year and made it to states! I have talent to play college basketball but I have chosen to stick to baseball!

Matthew is a RHP and an OF. He is successful at both. On the mound he goes after hitters and has 2 pitches he can throw for strikes anytime. Velocity is still developing, currently ranging 83-85 MPH.
As an OF he covers a lot of ground. He has a strong arm and gets good reads on balls off the batters. Offensively he has a lot of power. He has home-run power and all teams throughout high school and travel use him as a two- way player.
