My name is Michael Johnson and along with baseball, I enjoy reading, working out, fishing, hanging out with friends and exploring new things.
I am really big into family. I believe family is the most important thing in my life. My grandfather died a few years ago and, my 88 year old grandmother moved in with our family. I really enjoy doing things with her and taking her out.
My hobbies, include, reading, and fishing and I dedicate a great deal of my time working on my baseball skills. I also do weight lifting four times per week, I run 3-5 miles daily, and I am constantly working on catching and hitting drills. I also practice yoga in the off season.
Academically, I maintain a solid grade point average and work on maintaining my grades as best as I can. I take all AP and Honor classes. Some of my high school achievements has been admission to the Beta Club and I am certified I AutoCad and Inventor.
Finally, with regards to baseball my baseball statistics include a routine pop time between 1.88-1.96. I am a gap to gap line hitter, I am a very skilled defensive baseball player when players are trying to steal on me while I am behind the plate, I am very proud that for the last 3 seasons I have maintained a very high percentage rate of throwing players out when they steal.
As I have developed in this sport and I have learned how to utilize my talents to my advantage by trying to be a step ahead of everyone else who I compete with. I feel I am ready for COLLEGE BASEBALL!

ROGER MORALES on MICHAEL JOHNSON
Michael is very mature and determined to succeed in the game of baseball. All his coaches say he is a work horse behind the plate. This is evident by watching him call a game behind the plate. He has great leader instincts.
DEFENSIVE
Michael maintains a constant sub 1.9 pop time. He has quick feet and a strong arm. He understands the game and knows pitch calling well. He has quick reaction and controls the run game with the threat that he can throw to any base from his knees accurately.
OFFENSIVE
Michael is a gap to gap hitter with some HR power to the pull side. He can also hit the ball well to the opposite field. He has good hand eye coordination and keeps the bat in the strike zone long enough to make constant contact, making him a tough out for any team. Michael has above average base running ability, and although not a threat to steal many bases, he does know how to keep the defense guessing.
Michael will develop more power at the plate as he develops and grows into his big frame. Currently he is 220LBS 6’2 .
